Telford Central Footbridge successfully lifted into place

The new Telford Central Footbridge was lifted into place in the early hours of this morning.  It has been a busy weekend for our contracts team with the first attempt to lift the 250te structure into place being postponed due to high winds on Saturday night.  The team were ready to start this morning as soon as the last train went through Telford Station and we had the clearance from Network Rail. The slings were finally taken off at 3.00am. To spectators the operation might have looked simple but to this was a very challenging operation which required meticulous planning and attention to detail. The bridge was lifted into place with all its finishes in place which included the glazing to the side, the internal GRP soffit and the tensile fabric roof.  This is a great example of SH Structures ability to provide our clients a complete service and is a fantastic showcase for all the hard work carried out by everyone in the company.  (we apologise for the image quality, but it is a snapshot from the live site webcam)
