Abbey Chesterton Bridge

Forming a key part of the Chisolm Trail the Abbey Chesterton bridge was installed on November 8th, 2020. The trail will provide a link to and from the villages to the north of Cambridge and the town centre. The 40m span structure was lifted into place during a very foggy night but fortunately this did not hinder the lifting operations. The structure, which is formed from a stiffened trough is wide enough to provide safe access for both cyclists and pedestrians and has been welcomed by local-residents and cycling groups. In addition to the new bridge SH Structures have also supplied and installed a pontoon walkway which provides safe access along the riverbank trail.
