Launched in 1869, The Cutty Sark, has become part of international maritime history and is ones of London s most significant landmarks. This rather unusual project for SH Structures involved the supply and installation of new support steelwork as well various internal structural elements such as stairs and deck structures. This complex project involved working within the confines of the delicate fabric of the hull and most significantly involved the raising of the vessel some 3m off the dry dock floor. Whilst being carefully monitored, the 85m long vessel was lifted by SH Structures and is now supported off the dry dock wall on a new steel cradle creating a new exhibition area beneath the hull.
