Harlech Castle footbridge picks up ICE Heritage Award

The Institution of Civil Engineers Wales Cymru Awards 2016 took place at a ceremony held in Cardiff on the 17th June and we were delighted that our Harlech Castle Footbridge secured the George Gibby Heritage Award. This is a fantastic result for the team involved which included Mott MacDonald, David Dexter Associates, R.L.Davies and the client CADW the Welsh Governments historic environment service. The judges were impressed by the way the design of the bridge successfully dealt with incorporating a new structure into a historical setting. As Harlech Castle is a World Heritage site this makes winning this prestigious award even more significant and one which we are honoured to have received.
