Greystone Bridge Opening
The new Greystone Bridge over the M62 in Knowsley Bridge was officially opened by The Mayor of Knowsley, Cllr Edna Finneran on 18 November. Pupils from Malvern School, who use the bridge for their journeys to and from school, were amongst the first people to walk across the new bridge. The new bridge supplied and installed by SH Structures replaces the old bridge, known locally as the ‘sausage bridge’, which helped generations of the local community to safely cross the M62 since it opened in 1973. That structure had reached the end of its serviceable life and was demolished in August.
