Bridgewater Place Wind Amelioration Scheme is a Winner

Bridgwater Place was a Project Winner at the 2020 Yorkshire Region Structural Awards which were judged this week. The scheme, which was designed by Chetwoods Architects and engineers Buro Happold was developed to mitigate a long standing problem with wind circulation around Bridgwater Place in Leeds. The solution was to install three large wing shaped baffles, some vertical screens and an extensive glazed canopy around the base of the building. These are the type of projects that highlight the versatlity of the services offered by SH Structures. By supplying and installing the primary steelwork and the all the various finishes, including the glazing and perforated cladding we were able to provide the client with a turnkey solution to this complex problem. To have the project recognised in this way is a fitting reward
