Another SH Structures footbridge project nears completion

The new ST Philips footbridge across the River Avon in Bristol was successfully installed on 6th September.

The 52m span, 160te structure is another beautiful design by our friends at Knight Architects and the ‘Y’ shaped bridge will provide a pedestrian crossing to the newly proposed mixed-use development on the old railway works site near Bristol’s Temple Mead Station.

The bridge was lifted into place using the LG1750 1250te capacity crane with 400te of super lift ballast.  The LG 1750 is one of the most advanced heavy lift cranes available and was hired from Baldwins UK fleet. Following its work with us in Bristol it will be heading to Telford ready to lift in another SH Structure’s bridge.

Our client for this scheme was main contractor Andrew Scott and we hope this will be first of many projects as the relationship with their great site team has been first class.
