The Kelpies continue to inspire

Almost three years after being opened in April 2013 the Kelpies artwork in Falkirk is being used by SH Structures to inspire future engineers. We will be presenting a talk on the Kelpies project to first year engineering students at the University of South Wales later this month. The 30m high horses heads may be seen by most as a piece of public art but they also a great example of the UK’s engineering and construction skills. Employing almost all the disciplines you would normally expect to find on a conventional construction the Kelpies are a shining example of engineering excellence.  The presentation has already been enjoyed by groups from the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Welding Institute where the feedback has been excellent.
