Temenos
Temenos is a 110m long, 50m high sculpture created by internationally acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor. The structure features two large diameter steel rings supported by an inclined mast with a network of woven mesh creating an enormous transparent tube. The competed piece which when installed was Britain’s largest sculpture, is similar in form to Kapoor’s earlier piece, Marsayas, which SH Structures installed within the Tate Modern some years ago. The steel components manufactured by SH Structures totalled 150 tonnes with the massive rings being delivered to site in sections where they were set up on temporary works before being welded together prior to their erection.
