Site Installation

Every construction site is unique and offers its own challenges and our proactive approach to overcoming these challenges is welcomed by our clients and represents a continuation of the professional approach we strive to apply across all areas of our projects and is borne out by our excellent Health & Safety record.

Controlled by our highly experienced contracts department, all our activities are coordinated with not only the clients’ professional team but with the other trade contractors on site avoiding costly clashes and logistics problems that have could have a major impact on the safe and efficient running of a project.

The installation process is considered from the very outset of a project during the design development phase where the construction methodology is a major consideration and frequently influences how structures are finally designed and detailed.

In general the majority of our projects are installed using mobile cranes with access being provided by mobile elevated work platforms however this approach is not always possible and we have to develop a more site specific method of installation. Over the years this has included the use of floating cranes, bespoke scaffold systems and the use of self-propelled mobile transporters (SPMT’s). Frequently our site activities are carried out under the rigid time constraints of road closures and rail possession which require meticulous planning and coordination to ensure a seamless, efficient and above all safe installation process.

All site activities are fully documented with detailed method statements, lifting plans, risk assessment and activity schedules all being prepared for the appropriate approvals before any work starts on site.
