Her Royal Highness the Queen meets SH Structures at the Kelpies

Her Royal Highness the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Kelpies on 5th July to unveil a plaque naming the new Forth & Clyde Canal section, The Queen Elizabeth II Canal. During the visit, the Royal couple had a close look at the Kelpies and were escorted by artist Andy Scott to look at the complex engineering within the head-down Kelpie.  Her Royal Highness was also introduced to various members of the project team including Simon Holden and Tim Burton from SH Structures. It was a great thrill for us to meet Her Royal Highness and the Duke of Edinburgh in person and they were very interested in how the structures were built and likened the process to building a giant Meccano set. This Royal visit was a lovely way to finish what has been a fantastic project for us and we would like to thank Scottish Canals for their kind invitation to this fabulous event.
