Quality

Our management and control of quality is fundamental to our business. We recognise the importance of consistently providing quality throughout each phase of a project from design development, material traceability, fabrication and assembly to the completed structure which we hand over to our clients. To us quality is more than just satisfying the requirements of a given project specification but applies to everything we do from how we engage with our clients through to completing the project O&M manual.

Each project is considered as being unique and has its own Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) which sets out the specifications and standards the various elements are to be tested against as well as the level and frequency of the testing. The ITP covers all activities and processes including materials testing and certification, weld inspection, dimensional control and protective treatment.

The voluntary CE Marking for structural steelwork started in 2011 with the implementation of the European Construction Products Regulations and SH Structures first CE marked project was fabricated in October 2011. CE marking of fabricated steelwork became a mandatory requirement in July 2014 and SH Structures are accredited to the highest level of Execution Class 4 enabling us to comply with the most onerous of specifications.
